Empowering Birth Families: A Guide to Supportive Services At InTuned Consulting, we are dedicated to empowering birth families and igniting change within the child welfare system. We understand the challenges and struggles that birth families face, and we believe in providing them with the support and resources they need to thrive. In this blog post, we will provide a comprehensive guide on the various supportive services available for birth families. Keynote Speeches: One of the ways we empower birth families is through keynote speeches. Our founder, Ashley Albert, is an experienced speaker who shares her personal experiences and insights to inspire and educate others. By sharing her story, Ashley aims to break down stigmas and create a more supportive environment for birth families. Panel Participation: Another way we support birth families is by participating in panels and discussions. We believe in giving birth families a voice and a platform to share their experiences and perspectives. By participating in panels, we aim to raise awareness about the challenges faced by birth families and advocate for change within the child welfare system. Peer Counseling: We understand that birth families often need someone to talk to who can relate to their experiences. That's why we offer peer counseling services. Our trained counselors, who are also birth parents themselves, provide a safe and supportive space for birth families to share their thoughts and feelings. Through peer counseling, birth families can find comfort, guidance, and a sense of community. Training in Peer Services: In addition to counseling, we also offer training in peer services. We believe in the power of peer support and the importance of birth parents supporting each other. Our training programs equip birth parents with the skills and knowledge to become peer supporters themselves, so they can provide support to other birth families in their community. Shedding Light on Systemic Racism: We recognize that systemic racism within the child welfare system is a significant issue that disproportionately affects birth families of color. That's why we are committed to shedding light on this issue and advocating for change. Through our advocacy work, we aim to address the racial disparities within the child welfare system and ensure that all birth families receive fair and equitable treatment. In conclusion, empowering birth families is at the core of what we do at InTuned Consulting. Through our keynote speeches, panel participation, peer counseling, and training in peer services, we aim to provide birth families with the support and resources they need to thrive. We also strive to shed light on systemic racism within the child welfare system and advocate for change. If you are a birth family seeking support or if you are interested in partnering with us, we encourage you to reach out. Together, we can make a difference and create a more supportive and equitable child welfare system.
